Apparently dooce really did crash BYU’s Modesty in Dress webpage this week.

It really demonstrates to the rest of the country especially the east coast and southeast the uniqueness of Utah.  Never before living in Utah had I seen people mowing their lawns in 105 degree heat wearing jeans and a long sleeve shirt.  Or, women in the locker room at the gym putting their lingerie on over the temple garments that LDS (Latter Day Saints or Mormons as they are more commonly known outside of Utah) faithful wear at all times.

For someone that bills herself as a benevolent dictator, I really am all about people doing what they want.  So, if people want to risk heatstroke while gardening, that’s their prerogative.  However, I don’t particularly care for disapproving looks from people all for the sinfulness associated with wearing a sleeveless shirt in July.

There are times when I am so glad to be a Bad Catholic.  It makes those first sips of beer on a hot day even better.
